ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank has strengthened its presence in Arunachal Pradesh by opening its first branch in Khonsa, the headquarters of Tirap district. The move marks the bank’s entry into the southeastern district and is aimed at expanding access to formal banking and financial services in the region.

The branch was inaugurated by Wanglin Lowangdong, MLA of Borduria Bogapani constituency, along with Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran. Equipped with a Cash Recycling Machine (CRM), the branch offers savings and current accounts, fixed and recurring deposits, and a range of retail and business-focused loan products including home loans, education loans, auto loans, business loans, Kisan Credit Card and farm equipment loans. The facility will also provide Tab Banking services that enable customers to access nearly 100 banking services at their doorstep through tablet-based banking support.

The expansion is expected to create fresh momentum in the Tirap market, where banking penetration and access to organised financial services have remained limited. Traders, small business owners and entrepreneurs in Khonsa and nearby areas are expected to benefit from improved access to credit facilities, digital banking and deposit services, which could support local commerce and encourage economic activity in the district. With the new addition, ICICI Bank now operates 21 branches and 22 ATMs and CRMs across Arunachal Pradesh.
