The Ledum Yameng Bane Kebang (LYBK) has urged Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao to intervene in the long-pending issue of poor and unreliable BSNL mobile connectivity in Ledum village. A delegation led by LYBK president Onong Dupak and secretary Tayem Taloh met Gao at his Ruksin residence on Friday and highlighted the difficulties faced by residents due to frequent network outages and call disruptions. The organisation said reliable mobile connectivity is essential for education, healthcare, business, emergency services, digital transactions and access to government services, yet Ledum continues to experience severe connectivity problems despite having a BSNL tower installed around 15 years ago. According to the LYBK, the network frequently becomes unavailable and calls are often disconnected within seconds, causing particular difficulties for students, senior citizens, government employees and residents requiring urgent communication. The organisation said the issue has been raised with authorities several times, but lasting solutions have yet to be implemented. It urged the MP to ensure that the existing BSNL infrastructure is repaired, upgraded and made fully operational, while also seeking the installation of towers from other service providers such as Airtel and Jio to improve connectivity and competition. After hearing the delegation’s concerns, Gao assured them that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities and pursue appropriate measures for the benefit of Ledum residents.
