In a significant step toward improving medical care in the North Eastern states, Gurgaon-based Medanta – The Medicity, which has been named Best Private Hospital in India by Newsweek for six years in a row, has launched a dedicated helpline number, marking an important step toward strengthening its healthcare delivery in an underserved part of the country by catering to patients in their own language. The helpline number — 8904395588 — is operational from 8am to 8pm and will provide quick and reliable support for patients and their attendants, assisting in selecting the right doctor and booking appointments, along with travel and stay assistance. Currently available in Assamese, Bengali, Nagamese, English and Hindi, the service will soon be extended to other regional languages. Speaking about the new helpline number, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director, Medanta, said, “North East India is a region that has long been underserved with respect to heath care services. At Medanta, we believe that quality healthcare should be a right, not a privilege, and through this initiative, we reaffirm our mission to make world-class healthcare accessible to all, thus embodying our hospital’s ethos – ‘Har Ek Jaan Anmol’ (Every Life Is Invaluable).”
Limited access to healthcare remains a critical challenge across the Northeastern region. Along with that, many patients struggle to communicate their health concerns effectively or find reliable guidance in their own local languages, especially when they travel to other states for tertiary centers of treatment. Medanta’s new dedicated helpline will bridge the gap between patients and quality healthcare, ensuring that reliable assistance is just a phone call away across all its hospitals. Hailing the initiative, Mr. Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, Medanta, said, “Our vision is clear — to deliver world-class, patient-centric, and accessible healthcare to the underserved sections of society. Medanta’s patient-centric approach makes us uniquely positioned to address this need and deliver high-quality, accessible, and reliable healthcare for all. This helpline will empower and extend support to patients across their healthcare journey. The cornerstone of our success lies in our unwavering commitment to patient-centric, high-quality care.” The launch of the dedicated helpline comes even as Medanta announced its entry into the Northeast region, holding a Bhoomi Poojan ceremony in Guwahati to mark the beginning of construction for its upcoming 400+ bed super-specialty facility at Industrial Estate, Sarusajai, Guwahati along National Highway 27. Medanta has also partnered with IDAN, Government of Nagaland, to create a booklet to spread awareness about key health concerns in the state.
Medanta Multi specialty OPD is now available in Guwahati at Sunvalley Hospital, GS Rd, Mathura Nagar, Bormotoria. Medanta also offers OPD services in Nagaland in the specialties of Oncology, Liver and Gastroenterology, Cardiology, and Uro-Nephrology.
