Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram and Zote Toyota, has inaugurated its 67th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the STAR Scholarship Initiative at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aizawl. This initiative reinforces TKM’s commitment to India’s “Skill India” and “Make in India” missions by addressing the critical need for skilled workers in the growing automotive industry.
The T-TEP program will provide hands-on training to students in Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Diesel Mechanic trades, offering them the expertise required for careers in the automotive sector. The STAR Scholarship Initiative, which provides financial assistance of up to ₹51,000 annually, will support economically disadvantaged students, enabling them to pursue technical education and improve their employability.
In Itanagar, the demand for skilled automotive technicians is increasing rapidly due to rising vehicle ownership and an expanding local economy. TKM’s T-TEP initiative comes at a pivotal time, as the city’s automotive sector grows. The program is set to bridge the gap by equipping local youth with industry-relevant skills, thereby enhancing their job prospects and contributing to Itanagar’s economic growth.
