Arunachal Pradesh’s government has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the concerns surrounding the Frontier Highway project in the East Kameng district. Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Tuesday that a one-man committee tasked with reviewing the situation related to the Frontier Highway has submitted its findings, which are currently under review by the state government. Khandu also revealed that the matter has been forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Department for a distinct inquiry into the reported irregularities associated with the project. Emphasizing the seriousness with which the government is treating the issue, he outlined a multi-faceted strategy to ensure accountability, which includes the formation of four additional committees aimed at reassessing different elements of the project, such as its implementation and oversight procedures. These committees are designated to independently analyze the findings of the initial report and provide their recommendations. Khandu affirmed that individuals found culpable during these investigations would face legal consequences, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and the effective execution of vital infrastructure projects within the state.
