In a significant move to enhance financial security and brand development for its residents, the Government of Nagaland has partnered with Tata AIA Life Insurance to introduce the Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme (CMULIS). This innovative scheme offers life insurance coverage of INR 2 lakh to primary earning members aged 18 to 60, with a focus on individuals in unorganized sectors and low-income groups.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized the initiative’s impact, stating, “I am extremely happy to partner with Tata AIA Life Insurance and launch this scheme for the working population of Nagaland. We hope to enroll all earning individuals in Nagaland under this scheme, thereby ensuring the financial security of several families.” With the state government covering insurance premiums, the program aims to be widely accessible.
In Itanagar, the CMULIS is poised to strengthen brand loyalty and consumer trust. As families secure life insurance, their financial stability may lead to increased spending on local businesses and services. This shift in consumer behavior can enhance the market landscape in Itanagar, fostering growth for local enterprises and contributing to a resilient economic ecosystem.
