Nissan Motor India has unveiled a preview of its upcoming C-SUV, the All-New Tekton, ahead of its 2026 launch, signaling a strategic move to capture a larger share of the competitive Indian SUV market. Drawing design inspiration from the iconic Nissan Patrol, the Tekton emphasizes bold styling, advanced technology, and premium craftsmanship. Its name, derived from the Greek word for “craftsman” or “architect,” underscores Nissan’s commitment to precision engineering and innovation, catering to modern Indian consumers seeking vehicles that align with their lifestyles.
As the second product under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” strategy, the Tekton will be manufactured at the Chennai plant in partnership with Renault for domestic sale and export to select global markets. Key design elements include a muscular stance, C-shaped headlamps, sculpted bonnet, rear illuminated lightbar, and mountain-inspired accents on the front doors, positioning the Tekton as a premium offering in the mid-size SUV segment.
Analysts suggest the model could drive regional demand, potentially boosting Nissan’s market share in the Northeast as disposable incomes rise and SUV adoption increases. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan India, stated, “The Tekton is central to our growth trajectory, combining innovation, design, and market strategy to strengthen Nissan’s presence across India.”
