Nissan Motor India’s global premiere of the all-new TEKTON underscores India’s growing significance in the country’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem and aligns with the broader policy thrust towards making India a global production and export hub. Developed under Nissan’s “One Car, One World” philosophy and manufactured at its Chennai plant, the premium C-SUV will serve both domestic buyers and export markets across the Middle East and Africa, strengthening India’s position in the global automotive value chain.

Priced from Rs 10.49 lakh for the T160 Manual Transmission and Rs 14.99 lakh for the T280 Manual Transmission and T280 DCT variants, the TEKTON marks Nissan’s second product launch in India in 2026 and forms a key pillar of the company’s resurgence strategy. The SUV features a 100% turbocharged engine lineup delivering up to 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, Google built-in connectivity with access to more than 200 apps, over 55 connected features through the MyNISSAN App, a class-leading 700-litre boot and more than 17 ADAS technologies.

The launch reflects the increasing confidence of global automakers in India’s manufacturing capabilities, skilled workforce and export competitiveness. By positioning Chennai as a production base for international markets, Nissan is supporting industrial growth, technology transfer and value-added manufacturing. The TEKTON’s blend of advanced engineering, premium features, safety technologies and export potential highlights how India’s automobile sector continues to evolve from a domestic market to a strategic global production hub, contributing to investment, employment and long-term industrial development.
