Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday dismissed reports claiming that Chinese forces had occupied Indian territory in the Taksing sector of Upper Subansiri district, saying the reports were false and had already been rejected by the Indian Army. Speaking on the issue, the Chief Minister said there had been no such incident along the border. “It is a false report. The Indian Army has already dismissed the claims. No such activity has happened there,” Khandu said.

The clarification came after reports alleged that China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had recently entered the Taksing sector and set up camps inside Indian territory. The Indian Army, however, had earlier rejected the claims, describing the reports as “incorrect and without any basis.” The Army said there had been no recent encroachment by the PLA or establishment of any camps in the area as alleged.

The Taksing sector, located in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district, lies close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC), where India and China maintain a strong security presence. Border-related reports from the region often attract close attention because of the strategic importance of the area.
