Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak visited the Mothers Home-cum-Achukuru Children’s Home in Ziro and assured government support to strengthen the institution’s efforts in caring for destitute and underprivileged children. During his visit to the care centre, the MP spent time interacting with the children and appreciated the work being carried out by the institution. He praised the commitment of the home’s founder, Talyang Shanti, for providing shelter, care and hope to children who have been left without family support or proper care.

As a gesture of support, Tagak donated Rs 1 lakh to the institution. He also distributed essential items, including mattresses, blankets and fruits, for the welfare of the children and other residents staying at the home. The Rajya Sabha MP commended the humanitarian work of the NGO managing the facility and assured that all possible assistance would be extended from the government to help strengthen its services. He said organisations working for the welfare of vulnerable children deserve encouragement and support for the important role they play in society.

During the visit, Tagak also took note of the challenges faced by the institution, particularly poor road connectivity. Acknowledging the issue, he assured that he would make efforts to improve access to the children’s home. He said better road connectivity would not only improve the daily lives of the children and staff but also ensure smoother functioning of the institution and easier access to essential services.
