
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, have launched the 25th edition of the TCS Rural IT Quiz. Celebrating its silver jubilee, this prestigious quiz is recognized by the Limca Book of Records as India’s first IT quiz for rural students and stands as one of the largest IT quizzes in the country.
This year’s quiz, part of the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024, invites students from Classes 8 to 12 in smaller towns and districts across India, excluding city corporation areas. The quiz will feature online tests, virtual rounds, and physical quizzes. It will cover diverse technology topics, including AI, cloud computing, and IT’s impact on various sectors such as banking, education, and entertainment.
Regional finals will be held across India, culminating in the National Finals in Bengaluru in November. Winners and runners-up from the regionals will receive gift vouchers, while the national champions will earn TCS education scholarships. Last year, over 5.5 lakh students from 28 states and five Union Territories participated.In Itanagar, the quiz aims to engage students in the northeastern region, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their tech knowledge and gain valuable scholarships, fostering IT education and awareness in the region.
