The ongoing cold wave has resulted in dense fog across the NJP-Siliguri transit hub, leading to significant delays for the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train) and regional bus services. Local authorities have set up community bonfires and distributed blankets to the homeless, as the IMD predicts the chilly conditions will persist for the next 72 hours.
