Indefinite blockades on the roads linking Assam and Arunachal Pradesh were momentarily lifted by various Mising community organizations after a discussion between the chief ministers of both northeastern states.
The organizations had obstructed several routes along the inter-state border in the morning, demanding justice for the two laborers from Assam in Arunachal Pradesh.
The suspension followed assurances from both state governments and police officials that those responsible for the destroy of the two laborers would be held accountable.
A collaborative meeting with all stakeholder organizations is anticipated within the next three days.
Takam Mising Porin Kebang thanked Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma for their intervention in a memorandum requesting justice for Prabash Doley and Shankar Pegu deaths.
Arunachal Pradesh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chukhu Apa stated that legal proceedings have been initiated in both cases and urged the public to uphold peace and avoid taking the law into their own hands.
