Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reaffirmed its dedication to road safety through a comprehensive suite of initiatives that have impacted over 10 lakh people across India. Central to this is the Toyota Safety Education Program (TSEP), which has been educating school children from classes 5 to 9 about road safety since 2007. With a focus on awareness, behavioral change, and campaigns, TSEP has reached 9.3 lakh students across 140 schools in major cities such as Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai.

In addition, TKM’s Toyota Hackathon engages students from 7th to 12th grade in creating innovative solutions to real-world traffic issues, generating over 350 actionable ideas. The company has also set up Traffic Parks and deployed technology like ANPR systems and CCTV cameras in Mizoram to further its mission of safer roads.

Local stakeholders, including educators and government officials, are keen to adopt similar road safety programs in schools and communities to address the growing need for awareness and traffic management. Toyota’s efforts could significantly reduce road-related risks, supporting safer commuting for all road users.
