Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has taken a significant step towards enhancing its footprint in India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Maharashtra. The agreement aims to explore the establishment of a Green Field Manufacturing Facility at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, reflecting TKM’s commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.

The MOU was signed by Dr. Harshadeep Kamble, Principal Secretary (Industries), Government of Maharashtra, and Sudeep Santram Dalvi, Director & Chief Communications Officer of TKM. The ceremony saw the presence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, alongside TKM’s MD and CEO Masakazu Yoshimura and Vice Chairperson Manasi Tata.

This proposed facility is poised to be a game-changer, focusing on green technologies and generating substantial employment. For the Itanagar market, Toyota’s expansion promises a surge in access to cutting-edge vehicles and advanced automotive technologies, fostering local economic growth. The strategic location of the new plant will ensure efficient logistics, benefiting consumers and businesses in Itanagar and neighboring regions. “Today’s MOU signing marks a pivotal point as we stride into the next phase of growth in India,” remarked Masakazu Yoshimura, MD and CEO of TKM.This initiative builds on TKM’s recent Rs. 3,300 crore investment in Karnataka, underscoring its “Make in India” ethos.
