On March 7, two personnel from the Indian Army tragically lost their lives when their vehicle fell into a gorge near Taksing, situated in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. This incident was reported by a defence spokesperson and occurred while the vehicle was en route from Gelemo to Taksing as part of their operational duties under Operation Snow Leopard. The deceased have been identified as Naib Subedar Kulwant Singh, who served with the 908 Field Regiment of the 56 Artillery Brigade, and Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma, a member of the 18 Sikh Regiment originating from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. The accident occurred in proximity to the India-China border, highlighting the challenges faced by the army in operating in such rugged terrains.
