Lipin Ete, hailing from Kugi Pomte village in Arunachal Pradesh, achieved remarkable success at the USA Open 2026 Karate Championship, held from April 1 to 5 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, Texas. Competing for India, she secured both a gold and a silver medal, marking her as the first karate athlete from Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast to earn medals in this international tournament. Lipin’s performance exemplified her skill, dedication, and determination, significantly contributing to India’s representation in global martial arts. The daughter of Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Marli Ete and Emi Tayu Ete, her accomplishments are attributed to her rigorous training and robust family support. Arunachal Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, praised her achievement, expressing hope that it will inspire young athletes throughout the region.
