Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday inaugurated the newly-constructed Abhedananda Bhavan, a four-storeyed boys’ hostel, at Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, in the presence of ministers and dignitaries. The occasion marked a historic milestone for the institution, representing the first major step towards replacing the old NEFA-era hostel buildings. The new facility reinforces the Mission’s enduring commitment to education, character-building, and tribal welfare in Arunachal Pradesh.  In his address, Chowna Mein lauded the institution for its disciplined environment and its significant contribution to shaping generations of technocrats, entrepreneurs, doctors, and bureaucrats in the state.

Reaffirming the Government’s commitment, he announced the sanction of the proposed 200-bed hostel for junior boys along with 64 staff quarters, a declaration that was warmly received by the gathering. “From humble beginnings in 1972, the school has grown into a centre of excellence, shaping young minds with discipline, values, and knowledge. This institute has produced many brilliant minds who had excelled in NEET, JEE and national level competitions reflecting the strength of its foundation. Beyond education, the Mission has also played a vital role in healthcare and community service in Arunachal Pradesh,” Mein said.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the revered monks of Ramakrishna Mission for their selfless service to the people of the State. The inauguration of this hostel marks another step forward in strengthening this legacy. The Government of Arunachal Pradesh remains committed to supporting such institutions that are building the future of our youth,” he said.
