Arunachal Pradesh’s power sector received a major boost with the commissioning of the 132 kV Aalo-Kamba transmission line and the 132/33 kV Kamba substation, marking a significant milestone in the state’s drive toward energy security. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein stated that the network expansion ensures enhanced power reliability, greater grid stability, and the capacity to meet rising energy demands in West Siang and neighboring districts. The newly energized infrastructure will also provide vital support for the construction requirements of the Tato Hydroelectric Power Projects in the Shi-Yomi district. This achievement forms part of a broader statewide modernization initiative under the Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening Transmission and Distribution System (CSST&DS), which has successfully charged 95 out of 239 project elements so far. Mein commended the collaborative efforts of the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), the Department of Power, district administrations, and local stakeholders in advancing the infrastructure that will power Arunachal’s long-term development.
