Tagin Cultural Society (TCS) President Larji Rigia has been conferred the Bharat Samman Award 2026 during the National Leadership Conclave and Bharat Samman 2026 held in New Delhi on July 19. The award was presented by the Global Excellence Forum in recognition of his selfless service and significant contributions towards society, particularly the welfare and development of the Tagin community.
Following his return from Delhi, Rigia received a warm welcome from members of the Tagin Welfare Society and the Tagin Cultural Society. Speaking during the reception programme, he said he had never worked with the intention of receiving awards or recognition. He expressed gratitude for the honour and said such appreciation serves as encouragement for continued social service.
Rigia emphasised that much of the work carried out for society often goes unnoticed, but genuine service should always be guided by dedication and commitment rather than expectations of recognition.
Members of both organisations congratulated Rigia on receiving the prestigious award, describing it as a proud moment for the Tagin community and Arunachal Pradesh. They highlighted his continued efforts towards community welfare, social development and the preservation of cultural values. The recognition is seen as an acknowledgment of Rigia’s long-standing commitment to serving society and contributing to the empowerment and progress of the Tagin community.
