Creating another golden chapter in sports history, Australia won the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title on Sunday at Lord’s Cricket Ground. In a thrilling final, Australia defeated host England by 7 wickets to claim the title for the seventh time. Australia set this record by remaining unbeaten throughout the entire tournament.

In front of more than 28,000 spectators, England batted first and scored 150 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. For England, captain Nat Sciver-Brunt scored the highest 58 runs (off 53 balls) and Freya Kemp played a blazing 44 runs (off 28 balls). Australia’s bowlers bowled with control and prevented England from posting a big score.

Chasing the target of 151 runs, Australia achieved victory very easily, scoring 153 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in 17.1 overs. This is the biggest successful run chase in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup final. For Australia, star batter Beth Mooney played a spectacular innings of 64 runs off 49 balls with 10 fours. Phoebe Litchfield supported her well with 48 runs off 35 balls. Beth Mooney was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ for her outstanding performance.
