The bullion market slipped during Tuesday’s early trading sessions driven by persistent geopolitical concerns, causing December expiry gold futures to drop by Rs 492 to an early low of Rs 1,42,581 per 10 grams from the previous close of Rs 1,43,073 on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), while the December 4 expiry silver futures contract plummeted by Rs 2,238 to touch a low of Rs 1,95,793 per kilogram compared to the prior close. Highlighting the movement, Enrich Money CEO Ponmudi R observed that MCX gold opened with a gap-down near Rs 142,580 and is trading around Rs 142,900, down 0.12 per cent, recovering most early losses while hovering just under the Rs 143,000 mark.
