As Diwali brings families together to celebrate new beginnings, BHIM Payments App is extending the festive spirit to classrooms through an initiative aimed at helping underprivileged children access essential learning materials.

The homegrown digital payments platform, developed by NPCI BHIM, has partnered with Goonj, a civic and developmental organisation, for the third edition of its ‘Meethi Diwali’ campaign. From October 19 to November 8, 2026, BHIM will contribute towards providing school kits to children requiring learning support for every seventh transaction made by a user on the app.

GauravKochhar, Chief of Business at NPCI BHIM, said the campaign connects everyday digital payments with children’s education, creating opportunities to support their learning and future aspirations.

Anshu Gupta, Founder and Executive Director of Goonj, said the partnership would bring technology and citizen participation together to ensure children receive essential learning resources with dignity.

Mehul Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of SoCheers, said the initiative seeks to carry the spirit of giving beyond the festive season by making routine digital transactions contribute to a wider social cause.

Through the campaign, BHIM aims to reinforce its ‘Bharat KaApna Payments App’ positioning while encouraging socially conscious digital payment use.

NPCI BHIM Services Limited, incorporated in 2024 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India, works to expand secure, accessible and user-friendly digital payments for individuals and businesses, supporting financial inclusion and India’s digital economy.
