Ebo Mili met environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi during the latter’s ongoing indefinite hunger strike, expressing solidarity with his movement and raising concerns over proposed dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh.Wangchuk has been on an indefinite fast since June 28 along with the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The protest is seeking accountability over alleged examination irregularities and stronger constitutional and environmental safeguards for Ladakh.
As a mark of respect, Mili presented Wangchuk with a traditional Idu Mishmi warrior coat, known as Aetondrey, describing it as a symbol of courage and commitment. He also invited the activist to visit Arunachal Pradesh in the future.During the meeting, Mili handed over a letter outlining concerns raised by groups opposing major dam projects in Arunachal Pradesh. Wangchuk read the letter and later invited Mili to join him on the protest stage.Addressing the gathering, Mili said he had come to extend support on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh and to express solidarity with the ongoing movement.
In his speech, Mili also expressed grief over the reported deaths of students following the NEET paper leak controversy and conveyed condolences to their families.He further criticised the Central Government over its handling of several national issues, including Operation Sindoor and the violence in Manipur, alleging that it had failed to give adequate importance to human lives.
