The closing of STIHL India’s West-to-East “Parivartan Yatra” in Itanagar brought together farmers, company leaders and agricultural stakeholders to celebrate a journey focused on practical change at the grassroots. Starting from Dwarka in Gujarat, the yatra travelled across nine states, covering more than 15,000 kilometres. Along the way, it connected with over 10,000 farmers through demonstrations and discussions on modern farming tools and techniques.
In Itanagar, the event highlighted the daily challenges faced by farmers in Arunachal Pradesh, where difficult terrain often makes farming physically demanding. Company representatives said mechanisation can ease this burden while helping farmers save time and effort.
Senior STIHL India officials present at the event described the yatra as a movement rather than a one-time programme. They stressed the need for sustainable and efficient farming practices that fit local lifestyles and conditions.
For the Itanagar farming community, the initiative offered exposure to new ideas and technologies without leaving their region. The programme also reflected growing attention towards the Northeast as an important part of India’s agricultural future. With the yatra ending in Itanagar, STIHL India reaffirmed its aim to remain closely connected with farmers and support gradual, practical change in everyday farming life.
