Governor KT Parnaik has emphasised that the vision of Viksit Bharat must integrate technological advancement and economic growth with values such as integrity, duty, sustainability and social responsibility.
Addressing a national seminar on ‘From Tradition to Transformation: Integrating Bharatiya Itihas and Bharatiya Jnana Parampara in Modern Governance’ and Aitijya Anweshan 5128 in Guwahati, Assam, the Governor said true progress lies in ensuring the well-being, harmony and empowerment of every citizen while drawing inspiration from India’s rich civilisational heritage.
The Governor highlighted that India’s journey has been shaped by knowledge, innovation, ethical leadership and social harmony. He noted that from ancient centres of learning such as Takshashila and Nalanda to modern institutions of research and innovation, the country has continued to evolve while preserving its timeless values.
Welcoming the theme of the seminar, Governor Parnaik said the transition from tradition to transformation reflects India’s resilience, renewal and continuous pursuit of progress. He called upon the youth to carry forward the legacy of knowledge, wisdom and values inherited from previous generations.
The Governor stated that the contributions of great thinkers and nation-builders, including Veda Vyasa, Valmiki, Chanakya, Aryabhata, Sushruta, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Dr BR Ambedkar, continue to guide the nation in areas such as governance, science, healthcare and social development.
Highlighting the role of young citizens, Governor Parnaik urged them to actively participate in nation-building efforts as India moves towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He said initiatives such as Digital India, Startup India, Skill India, Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat and the National Education Policy have created opportunities for young Indians to contribute towards a strong, self-reliant and prosperous India.
