Residents of Vijoynagar circle in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh have urgently appealed to the Health and Family Welfare Minister to strengthen the collapsing healthcare infrastructure in their region. In a joint representation, villagers highlighted the severe hardships they endure daily due to a critical lack of proper health centers, essential medicines, and medical personnel.

The grievance petition—supported by residents of twelve remote villages including Shidiku, Miphoto, Sichoto, Musala, and Nagodi—emphasized that locals are forced to trek through notoriously treacherous terrains and travel immense distances just to receive basic medical treatment. The current state of deprivation routinely escalates minor illnesses into life-threatening emergencies.

According to the representation, equipping the Vijoynagar Headquarters and Gandhigram village health centers with adequate medicine stocks, emergency kits, and 24×7 doctor availability would drastically reduce treatment delays. Residents have also urged the ministry to deploy qualified alternative medical personnel during times when doctors are unavailable.

Amplifying the community’s voice, the All Yobin Development Society submitted a similar representation to the Health Minister. Both groups are now calling for immediate periodic medical outreach camps and regular mobile healthcare visits to these inaccessible pockets. They stressed that such initiatives are vital for the survival of vulnerable demographics, particularly children, the elderly, and chronic patients who cannot make the arduous journey to distant towns.
