Karan said that although if he finds a relationship, he will not end it, but now he does not want that. In a conversation with Faye D’Souza, Karan said that he has been in “one and a half relationships” in his life and was actively looking for a partner when he turned 40, but after turning 50 he decided to Stopped searching.

Karan said that, “I am single and have not been in any relationship for a very long time. Actually, I’ve been in one and a half relationships my entire life. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy my single status. I don’t think I can change it right now. Forget sharing bathrooms or bedrooms or your space or schedule, I think the power of your day lies with you. Your responsibility is to your children and your mother, that’s all.”

He also said, “When I turned 40 I felt empty, but when I turned 50 I felt like I didn’t want that. I’m not stopping it, but I don’t see it actively happening anymore. I’ve been through agencies, blind date situations, and met people in and out of the country, now if I feel like it’s cool and good, I don’t feel the need to do it at all.

In an earlier conversation with Midday, Karan had shared, “I have not been in too many relationships. When I came into my own, I was in my mid-30s when I realized I could do what I wanted in the area of love, even though it was difficult. It wasn’t easy to find the right partner and be in a relationship that was equal. I have faced unrequited love, on which I made Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. This was my tragic one-sided love, which lasted for many years, but taught me the power of love.
