A Maharashtra medical student has caused a major controversy by leaking chat screenshots allegedly showing people asking for and offering access to the leaked NEET-UG question paper. The student, who is now studying for an MBBS degree, flagged the digital conversations that took place on social media, which immediately drew the attention of educational authorities and law enforcement agencies. The screenshots include specific transactions, pricing talks and coordination to get the highly competitive medical entrance exam paper leaked early.
The disclosure has added fuel to existing concerns about the integrity of entrance tests at the national level. According to sources, the flagged chats expose a sophisticated network operating on multiple digital platforms to lure desperate aspirants. After the exposure, student wings and educational activists have been demanding a thorough probe into the matter and have urged the National Testing Agency (NTA) and cyber crime units to trace the digital footprints of the accounts involved.
The local authorities are said to be carrying out a preliminary inquiry to verify the authenticity of the screenshots. The scale of the alleged racket is yet to be investigated but the revelation has added fuel to the growing public demand for greater digital monitoring and total transparency in conduct of crucial national examinations.
