Samsung Electronics has revealed new details regarding its forthcoming Android XR smart glasses, confirming that the upcoming wearable will feature deep integration with Galaxy smartphones and smartwatches alongside a “reasonable” premium price tag. Co-developed in partnership with Google, Qualcomm, and fashion eyewear brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, the intelligent eyewear is designed to function as a direct, seamless extension of the Galaxy ecosystem rather than a standalone device. Key software integrations include instant media syncing with Galaxy smartphones, specialized Watch gesture controls, and contextual agentic AI capabilities powered by Google Gemini. Addressing hardware and safety concerns, Samsung noted that the glasses feature built-in privacy protections—such as automatic camera deactivation if the LED indicator is obscured—and are engineered to deliver extended battery performance.
