On the occasion of National Education Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reaffirmed its commitment to bridging India’s skill gap through innovative educational initiatives. With an emphasis on empowering economically underprivileged youth, TKM’s programs are equipping thousands of young individuals with the technical skills required to thrive in India’s growing industrial sector.

A cornerstone of TKM’s skill development efforts is the Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), which has been providing free, world-class education since 2007. Recently, the institute expanded its capacity to 1,200 students, including 600 female trainees, offering them a comprehensive three-year residential training program in automobile manufacturing. Additionally, TKM’s Toyota Kaushalya Program allows students to “Learn and Earn,” combining classroom education with on-the-job training.

In the context of Itanagar, TKM’s initiatives are particularly relevant as the region seeks to address the growing demand for skilled labor in the automotive and manufacturing industries. As Itanagar continues to develop its infrastructure, programs like TTTI and the Toyota Kaushalya Program can offer local youth valuable industry experience, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the needs of the region’s expanding job market. G. Shankara, Executive VP of TKM, stated, “Through these initiatives, we are empowering youth and contributing to the nation’s progress, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India.”
