Karnataka-based Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE), a Deemed-to-be-University, has announced a strategic collaboration with upGrad School of Technology to embed an industry-aligned School of Technology within its existing engineering programmes. The partnership aims to support the University with curriculum advisory services and deeper industry integration to strengthen India’s computer engineering talent pipeline.

Led by CEO Vishwa Mohan and Chief Revenue & Outcome Officer Mehul Khandhedia, upGrad School of Technology will develop practitioner-led modules, research exposure, build sprints and continuous specialisations from Day 1, supported by AI-first learning tools for personalised learning, skill tracking and academic assistance. The curriculum will cover emerging areas including Quantum Computing, AI, ML, Robotics and Full Stack Engineering, emphasising coding practice, project-based learning and structured industry-linked opportunities. Such collaborations reflect rising demand for skill-ready engineers in Northeast markets, which are seeing rapid digital adoption and tech-led entrepreneurship. With IT and innovation hubs emerging in Guwahati, institutions are under pressure to align curricula with real-world applications, positioning students for new-age tech employment.

Chancellor and Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara said the initiative marks a transformative moment for SSAHE, enabling world-class tech learning and innovation-driven education. Advisor to Chancellor Dr. Vivek Veeraiah said every student will graduate as a future-ready technologist. Phase 1 will focus on South India partnerships before scaling nationally. upGrad co-founders said the collaboration will prepare graduates as industry-ready contributors as India transitions into a capability-driven innovation economy, with the inauguration scheduled in Bengaluru on December 20.
