Apple is reportedly gearing up to abandon the bright “Cosmic Orange” of the current generation in favor of a more muted, “digital conservative” look for the iPhone 18 Pro series. Recent leaks on the supply chain and images of third-party camera covers suggest that the star new addition to the 2026 lineup will be a deep, wine-inspired Dark Cherry finish. The new hero color is a refined, red-purple that Apple compares to an aged Bordeaux, and the change marks a shift to a more prestigious and subdued look for Apple’s flagship devices.

The new palette should include four main options, the headline Dark Cherry, a light and airy Sky Blue, and the perennial favorites, Silver and Dark Gray. Notably, the staple “Space Black” appears to be missing again for another year, with Dark Gray being the next best choice for those looking for a moody, professional aesthetic. The outside colors are “quiet luxury,” but the internals are said to be anything but subdued with the industry’s first 2Nm A20 Pro chip and a game-changing variable-aperture primary camera.

Analysts say the shift to a new color scheme is part of Apple’s larger plans for a 2026 rollout that could include the launch of the long-awaited iPhone Fold. The choice of a “Dark Cherry” finish suggests that Apple is trying to make the iPhone 18 Pro a style statement that will last, not just another piece of technology. The full lineup is expected to be formally announced at Apple’s annual September keynote, so fans of the brand will not have to wait long for confirmation.
