Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin, a distinguished gin from Meghalaya, has secured the top honour at the Global Spirits Masters competition, besting 110 brands from 55 countries. Showcased at the London Wine Fair on May 21, 2024, this win underscores the gin’s unique appeal and the growing influence of Indian spirits on the global stage.

Crafted from rainwater and a fusion of 12 native botanicals, Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin is a collaborative masterpiece by the company’s master distiller and a Dutch counterpart. Key ingredients such as Kaji Nemu from Assam, Khasi Mandarin from Meghalaya, smoked tea from Manipur, cardamom from Sikkim, and juniper from the eastern Himalayas contribute to its distinct flavor profile.

Currently available in Meghalaya, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, the gin is poised for a launch in northern India. The company’s focus is now shifting towards exports, with the first batch expected to arrive in Europe next month.
