President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Gangtok on Tuesday for a three-day official visit to the Himalayan state of Sikkim. The President was received at the Libing Helipad by Om Prakash Mathur and Prem Singh Tamang.
Several dignitaries were present to welcome the President, including Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly MN Sherpa, Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa, ministers, Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly, senior civil and police officials, and representatives of the Indian Army.
Senior officials attending the reception included the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, District Collector of Gangtok, Superintendent of Police of Gangtok, and State Protocol Officers.
During her visit, President Murmu is scheduled to attend the 7th Convocation of Sikkim University. She will also present the President of India’s Police Colour to the Sikkim Police in recognition of its service and contribution.
