At a time when industries are rapidly changing and employers are seeking future-ready talent, the Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) has launched the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), a new university designed to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world industry demands. The deemed-to-be university, launched in partnership with the University at Albany, will begin its first academic session in August 2026 and focus on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering and technology-driven business management.
RISM will offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, including B.Tech courses in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace Engineering and Electrical Sciences, along with BBA and MBA programmes. The university said students will gain hands-on exposure through internships, live projects, capstone assignments and industry-sponsored Centres of Excellence.
Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer of Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), Gurucharan Gollerkeri, said the goal is to equip students with critical thinking, adaptability and practical skills needed for an unpredictable future job market. The university will also introduce “Professors of Practice,” bringing senior industry leaders into classrooms to mentor students directly. Its upcoming campus near Bengaluru’s aerospace and technology hubs is expected to create stronger links between students, research and industry opportunities.
